November marks the start of the annual Movember movement. With more than 4 million participants worldwide, the campaign aims to raise awareness of men’s health issues by literally changing the face of its supporters. Each year men across the globe vow not to shave for 30 days while raising funds for men’s health issues including mental health and cancer.
At CyberKnife Center of Chicago, we support the cause by continuing the conversation on how men can prevent, monitor and treat prostate cancer. Our center provides a nonsurgical treatment option for prostate cancer that can be completed in five or fewer outpatient sessions. CyberKnife® is used to deliver stereotactic body radiation therapy, a form of treatment that is supported by most national and local insurance providers. Most recently, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois announced an updated position to provide coverage of stereotactic body radiation therapy for prostate cancer treatment.
